atoxic C. difficile toxin B

This is an atoxic mutantn of the C. difficile Toxin B protein, with a glycine/serine linker sequence upstream of the gene. This toxin has been shown to mediate delivery of domains upstream of the linker. The toxin binds to the epithetial cell surface receptors, triggering endocytosis. The toxin then undergoes a conformation change allowing it to escape the endosome and self cleaves its glucosyltransferase domain, along with anything attached.
